Four killed in truck-pickup collision

Four people were killed on the spot after a truck and a pickup van collided head-on in Bogura’s Kahaloo upazila yesterday.

The accident occurred around 10:00am in the Bou-Bazar area on the Bogura-Naogaon regional highway, according to police and locals.

Kahaloo Police Station OC Shafiqul Islam said all four of the deceased, including the driver, were travelling in the van. “Preliminary information suggests the victims were residents of Mymensingh district. One of them has been identified as Lutfor Rahman, while the identities of the remaining victims could not be confirmed immediately,” he said.

Kahaloo Fire Service and Civil Defence Team Leader Arju Ahmed said fire service personnel were working at the scene.
