Another case filed against Evaly CEO Rassel, chairman Shamima over embezzlement
Evaly chief executive officer Mohammad Rassel and chairman Shamima Nasrin were sued in another case today over embezzling Tk 85,000 through forgery.
An Evaly customer, Muzahidur Rahman, filed the case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debdash Chandra Adhikary's court, Special Public Prosecutor Azad Rahman told The Daily Star.
The magistrate took cognisance of the case, recorded the complainant's statements, and directed the officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station to register the complaint as a regular case, he said.
In the case statements, the complainant said he paid Tk 85,000 to the accused for an air conditioner (AC), but they neither furnished the product nor reimbursed the money even though the complainant asked for it several times.
Previously, two other cases have been filed against the couple with Gulshan and Dhanmondi police stations separately on September 16 and 17.
On September 16, Rab arrested the couple during a raid at their flat in the capital's Mohammadpur.
