Evaly can appoint audit firm of its choice: HC
The High Court today allowed the beleaguered e-commerce platform Evaly to appoint any well-reputed firm of its choice to carry out an audit of the company.
The company bench of Justice Muhamad Khurshid Alam Sarkar passed the order after holding hearing on the application submitted by lawyer Morshed Ahmed Khan on behalf of Evaly's board of directors, seeking necessary directive, Sayed Mahsib Hossain, lawyer for a customer, told The Daily Star.
He said earlier on October 18 last year, the same bench had asked the board of directors of the company to appoint the audit firm KPMG at its earliest convenience to carry out an audit of the company.
But the firm demanded Tk 8.6 million from the company for the audit, which is a very high amount.
In this situation, the board of directors, appointed by the HC, filed the application with the court on January 16 seeking modification in its earlier, lawyer Mahsib added.
