Qcoom head of sales RJ Nirob arrested over fraud charges
Police today arrested Humayun Kabir Nirob alias RJ Nirob, head of sales (communications and public relations) of E-commerce platform Qcoom in a case filed over fraud charges.
He was placed on a one-day remand in this connection, Hafiz Al Faruq, additional deputy commissioner of Tejgaon division, told The Daily Star today.
"Nirob was arrested around 3:00am early today from his home at Nobodoy Housing in Adabor after a customer of Qcoom named Abdullah Khan Shaishab filed a case against six people, including Nirob, with the Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station," said the ADC.
The other accused in the case are -- Qcoom owner Ripan Mia, his wife Syeda Tasmina Tarin, Qcoom Chairman Ayub Ali, the company's delivery executive Tanvir Chowdhury Veer, and its COO Sajedur Rahman Sajib.
On October 3, members of the detective branch of police arrested Qcoom owner Ripan Mia on fraud charges in a case filed under the Digital Security Act with the Paltan Police Station.
The company owes at least Tk 250 crore to its customers, said DB.
Apart from this, at least Tk 397 crore that Qcoom collected from customers through orders for motorcycles is stuck in payment gateways, said AKM Hafiz Akter, DB chief.
