Dhaka South City Corporation suspends executive engineer for corruption
Dhaka South City Corporation yesterday suspended executive engineer of zone-1, Tanveer Ahmed, and filed a departmental case against him for "negligence, misconduct, inefficiency and corruption".
The DSCC, in an official order signed by its secretary Akramuzzaman, suspended the engineer last night, according to a press release issued today.
In the order it was said that complete payment before completion of work was given to the contractor of a bridge on Deb Dholai canal on Layanhati road of ward 75 under a project named "Road infrastructure and drainage system development work at Nasirabad, Dakkhin Gaon, Demra and Manda".
A newspaper has recently published a report on the issue and the image of DSCC has been tarnished due to it, the order read.
DSCC took the decision to suspend Tanveer Ahmed and filed the departmental case under Service Rules 2019.
Tanveer will get due benefits during the time of suspension following the service rules, it reads.
