Islami Bank, Mastercard launch Hajj card

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, in collaboration with Mastercard, has launched the ‘Hajj Agent Kafela Card’ to facilitate financial transactions for Hajj agents and support pilgrims during their Hajj journey.

The card allows users to withdraw Saudi Riyals from Mastercard-branded ATMs in Saudi Arabia and make payments at point-of-sale terminals. Cardholders will also be entitled to up to four complimentary visits a year to the Balaka Executive Lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, inaugurated the card at an exchange meeting between Islami Bank and members of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) held in Dhaka recently.

Mohammad Zahir Hossain, chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh, chaired the event.

Md Altaf Hossain, managing director (acting) of Islami Bank Bangladesh, delivered the welcome remarks, while Sohail Alim, director of Bangladesh at Mastercard, attended as the special guest. M Kamal Uddin Jasim, additional managing director of Islami Bank Bangladesh, and senior officials from HAAB and the bank, were also present.
