3 blasts reported on Dhaka University campus

At least three blasts were reported on Dhaka University campus on Tuesday night.

Two explosions occurred in front of Jagannath Hall around 10:45pm, followed by another near the metro rail station around 11:00pm, according to campus sources.

Israfil Ratan, proctor of Dhaka University, told The Daily Star, citing police, that the first two explosions were caused by crude bombs.

“Police are yet to confirm the nature of the blast that occurred near the metro station,” he added.

Following the third blast, the Dhaka University unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) called an immediate protest procession at 11:20pm.
