A Dhaka court yesterday placed 24 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its associate bodies on 10-day remand each in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act over their alleged involvement in a procession in Dhaka’s Gulshan area on Friday afternoon.

Syed Taki Mohammad, popularly known as Buddan Saheb, a prominent Urdu poet and social worker of Old Dhaka, passed away at his Sat Rowza Mohalla residence at 8:00pm on Friday. He was 76, said a press release.
