Actress Azmeri Haque Badhan returned to Bangladesh this morning after allegedly being attacked and harassed during her visit to Italy for the Venice International Film Festival.

Actor Azmeri Haque Badhan has reflected on the difficult experience she faced in Venice and expressed gratitude to those who stood by her after she was allegedly assaulted while attending the Venice International Film Festival.

Expressing solidarity with Badhan, the organisation said, “An artiste’s body is not a field for political revenge, and an artiste’s voice cannot be held hostage by fear. Let there be opinions against opinions and arguments against arguments; but no violence.”
