Barishal Division recorded the slowest median mobile download speed among Bangladesh’s divisions in the first half of 2026. The division posted a median mobile download speed of 22.57 megabits per second (Mbps) during the January-to-June period, according to Ookla’s Bangladesh Speedtest Connectivity Report H1 2026.

On average, it costs about Tk. 33 (US $0.32) per gigabyte (GB) of mobile data in the country.

Mobile internet speed was brought down to minimum level yesterday evening so that picture or video could not be uploaded for next 24 hours following a recommendation of the law-enforcement agencies to limit street agitations.
