The country ended fiscal year 2025-26 with a slight easing in inflation, as lower food prices helped slow overall price growth in June.

Inflation is expected to fall below 7 percent by June 2026, driven by the Bangladesh Bank’s tight monetary policy and the government’s austerity measures, the Chief Adviser’s Office said yesterday.

Inflation in Bangladesh fell slightly to 9.24 per cent in April, driven by a decline in food prices, although it still remains at an elevated level compared to historic trends, official figures showed yesterday.
