A former deputy commander of RAB-8 in Barishal yesterday told the International Crimes Tribunal-1 that he had witnessed five operations led by then RAB intelligence chief Lt Col Ziaul Ahsan in which 21 abducted people were killed.

In a harrowing deposition before the International Crimes Tribunal-1 yesterday, a former commanding officer of Rab-8 testified that he witnessed blindfolded detainees being executed, their stomachs slit, and their bodies dumped into the sea --  an execution practice known internally as “elimination” that intended to leave no trace of the victims.

Commission says assets found at the property are being documented as part of an ongoing inquiry

Salman F Rahman, Anisul Huq, Dipu Moni and Major General Ziaul Ahsan are expected to be produced before a Dhaka court today on completion their remand.
