Fresh from lifting the Notun Kuri Sports title, Rangpur's young female footballers have set their sights on another milestone as they chase a record sixth crown in the JFA Under-14 Youth Development Programme.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday stressed the importance of nurturing the country's youth, saying Bangladesh's future depends on the proper development of its younger generation.

The final will be held at the same venue on Friday.

Originally launched in 1976, ‘Notun Kuri’ used to be a popular initiative to nurture young talent.

The government is set to launch a new grassroots initiative, Notun Kuri Sports, aimed at engaging young people across the country in sporting activities and nurturing talented athletes.
