Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Saturday announced Shakib Al Hasan the skipper of the T20I side till the next T20 World Cup, slated to begin on October 16 in Australia. 

When it comes purely to cricket, the star all-rounder has dominated almost every side he has played against over the years. But off the field, Shakib's favourite opposition to have a go at is apparently the very organisation that signs his paycheck, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Bangladesh cricket is in turmoil once again and, unsurprisingly, that commotion stems from ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.

Following defeat one after another across the formats, the confidence levels of the Bangladesh cricket team approach a nadir ahead of the third and final game of the T20I series against the West Indies in Guyana tonight.

“We are trying, but things are not happening for us,” were the words uttered by a timid Nasum Ahmed after Bangladesh’s eight-wicket thumping at the hands of England in the 2021 World Cup in Abu Dhabi.

“We don’t have someone like Rovman Powell and that made the difference,” former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful said as he summed up the Tigers’ 35-run defeat in the second T20I against the West Indies in Dominica on Sunday.
