Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for August 2026 after a memorable tour of Australia, alongside England pacer Ollie Robinson and Sri Lanka batter Sonal Dinusha.

Sonal Dinusha hit an unbeaten 133 as Sri Lanka staged a stunning comeback to draw the second Test against India in Colombo on Thursday.

India enforced the follow-on after bowling out hosts Sri Lanka for 290 in their first innings on day four of their second Test on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka were fighting hard to avoid the follow-on when rain brought an early end to play on day three of the second Test against India on Tuesday, with the hosts on 265-8.

Sonal Dinusha struck a defiant century to save Sri Lanka from following on before rain halted play on the third day of the opening Test in Galle on Monday.
