The little details, the sepia tones of the entire documentary, the vibration – everything genuinely felt like a spring breeze for a spectator, soothing the eyes too. She has displayed some of her lovely photographs of different built spaces and nature as well.

For Fareena Samhee Nethee, silence is not an absence. In fact, it is a language made of colour, pattern and form. In her debut solo exhibition, “Silent Expressions”, the hearing- and speech-impaired artist transforms unspoken emotions into 61 vibrant acrylic paintings, each carrying fragments of a deeply personal journey.

Some photographs document history. Others preserve the grief, resilience and everyday realities that might otherwise fade with time. Bringing together many of those defining moments from 2025, the fifth edition of the Bangladesh Press Photo Competition 2026 commenced at Drik, where the winners of this year were announced.

Goswami, born in Netrakona in 1981, is a Bangladeshi visual artist, educator, curator and researcher. He studied drawing and painting at the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, before completing a master’s degree in painting at Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan.
