Mohammed Hanif re-elected Citizens Bank chairman
Chowdhury Mohammed Hanif Shoeb has been re-elected as the chairman of Citizens Bank PLC at the 49th meeting of the board of directors.
Hanif is an entrepreneur with more than three decades of experience in Bangladesh’s textile and real estate sectors, the bank said in a press statement yesterday.
He currently also serves as chairman of Salma Group, a business conglomerate with a longstanding presence in Bangladesh’s textile, trading, and real estate sectors.
Hanif is actively engaged in industry development and various social and philanthropic initiatives, according to the press statement.
He serves as a director of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) and is a lifetime member of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).
His commitment to social responsibility is also reflected through the Dabir Sohani Suraiya Foundation, a non-profit charitable initiative of Salma Group, reads the statement.
The foundation provides financial assistance to underprivileged and meritorious students at the University of Dhaka and extends support to disadvantaged individuals and communities across society.
