AvoidRafa to hold first solo concert in Dhaka

Musician Raef Al Hasan Rafa, popularly known as Rafa, is set to stage his first solo concert with his band AvoidRafa next month.

Titled “Eto Boka Keno Tumi”, the concert will take place at InterContinental Dhaka on October 2. The main show is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm, while the gates will open for audiences at 4:00pm.

Rafa, who has been involved in Bangladesh’s music scene for around two decades, is known for his work with bands including Aurthohin and Cryptic Fate. He later formed his own band, AvoidRafa, and has continued performing regularly on the local music circuit. 

At the concert, Rafa will perform some of his popular songs, including “Cholo Arekbar Uri”, “Tumi Daklei Firbo” and “Ami Akash Pathabo”. He will also share stories and experiences from different stages of his musical career.

Several musicians with whom Rafa has worked over the years are also expected to join him on stage. Aurthohin is scheduled to perform as a guest band at the concert.

Rafa joined Aurthohin in 2003 and remained associated with the band for more than a decade. He left the group in 2015. 

Speaking about his first solo concert, Rafa said, “I have been working on this concert for a long time. Finally, I am coming before everyone with my first solo concert. I have achieved many things over my 20–25 years in music and have been fortunate to be involved with a lot of good music. I have countless memories. I will share my entire journey, and there will be many more surprises. I hope it will be a great evening.”

The early-bird tickets are currently available for Tk 999. The official event listing also confirms the October 2 date, InterContinental Dhaka venue and 6:00pm show time.
