Popular singer Bappa Mazumder is set to bring a dazzling musical evening for his fans and listeners. The artiste will perform his popular songs at the Krishibid Institution auditorium in the capital on October 9.

The concert, titled “Moonlit Melodies”, is being organised by event management company Mavix Global. The organisation has previously received attention for arranging several music shows, including the “Gonojowar” concert at Hatirjheel Amphitheatre for students.

Bappa Mazumder shared the poster of the concert on his Facebook page on September 13, asking his fans to save the date. The singer is expected to perform some of his well-known tracks, including “Pori”, “Baji” and “Din Bari Jay”, among others.

According to Mavix, ticket sales for the concert have not started yet. Details regarding ticket prices, purchase procedures, schedule and other arrangements will be announced soon.

Bappa Mazumder is the frontman of the band Dalchhut. Alongside his band career, he has built a successful solo musical journey. Although he regularly performs at concerts with Dalchhut, his solo shows have been relatively rare.

Bappa held a solo concert in 2022, followed by “Odyssey” in 2024, jointly organised by Karkhana Event Management and Blues Communication. At the event, he performed some of his most popular songs as well as tracks from the film “Satta”, for which he composed the music.

Last year, another solo concert by Bappa was held at Yamaha Music Lounge in Tejgaon on July 12. On the same date this year, a special musical evening was arranged at Jatrabiriti in Banani, Dhaka, celebrating his three-decade-long musical career. Although it was not a solo performance by Bappa, eight young artistes paid tribute to him by performing his songs.

Besides singing, Bappa is also known for his work as a composer and music arranger. Many prominent artistes, including Fahmida Nabi, Samina Chowdhury, Nancy, Kona, Elita and Konal, have lent their voices to songs composed by him.

In films, artistes such as James, Momtaz, Samina Chowdhury, Partha Barua and Kona have performed songs composed by Bappa. Last year, he collaborated with legendary singer Runa Laila on the ghazal-inspired track “Onayashe”.

Most recently, on August 22, Bappa released “Gole Jawa Shomoy”, a song for which he wrote the lyrics, composed the tune and arranged the music.
