Murtaza Qizilbash, Kaavish among concerts ‘postponed’ again over approval issues

Dhaka’s much-anticipated concert lineup for this weekend has been disrupted, with three major international shows facing postponement or rescheduling amid security concerns and delays in obtaining the necessary approvals.

The first concert, “Sense It with Murtaza Qizilbash”, scheduled for September 25, has been rescheduled following last-minute security interventions and directives from the relevant authorities. Organisers said a new date will be announced once confirmed, while tickets already purchased will remain valid.

The concert is expected to mark Qizilbash’s first international performance.
Also scheduled for September 25, “mAhx Republic” has been rescheduled. The concert was set to take place at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre.

The concert was set to feature Nagar Baul James alongside Pakistani artistes Ali Azmat, Roxen frontman Mustafa Zahid and the band Jal.

The third concert, “Wave Fest: Enjoy the Full Moon”, has also been postponed after the organisers failed to secure the required permission. The concert was scheduled for September 26. Organised by Prime Wave Communication, the event was set to feature Pakistani band Kaavish alongside Bangladeshi bands Shironamhin and Meghdol.
