Bangladesh suffer another heavy defeat, lose 6-0 to South Korea

Bangladesh suffered another heavy defeat at the Asian Games, losing 6-0 to South Korea in their second Group F match at Nagai Stadium in Osaka, Japan, on Thursday.

The defeat came three days after Peter Butler’s side suffered a record 10-0 drubbing against North Korea in their opening game of the competition.

Unlike the first match, when Butler left several experienced players on the bench, the British coach opted for his strongest available starting XI against South Korea, including Ritu Porna Chakma, Monika Chakma, Shamsunnahar and Rupna Chakma.
However, the change in personnel could not prevent another comprehensive defeat against one of Asia’s stronger sides.

Bangladesh conceded twice in the first half before South Korea added four more goals after the interval to complete the 6-0 victory.

The result means Bangladesh have now conceded 16 goals without scoring in their first two matches of the tournament.
 
South Korea had earlier defeated Myanmar 5-0 in their opening Group F match,

Bangladesh will play their final group match against Myanmar on Monday.
