Mahbubur Rahman re-elected as ICC Bangladesh president
Mahbubur Rahman, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of ETBL Holdings Limited, has been unanimously re-elected as the president of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)-Bangladesh for a two-year term, while Rupali Chowdhury and AK Azad were elected vice presidents.
Chowdhury is the president of Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), while Azad is a former president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI) and managing director of Ha-Meem Group.
The board unanimously elected the leadership team for the upcoming term, according to a press release issued today.
Rahman is the vice chairman of Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) and chairman of Eastland Insurance PLC. He is a former president of FBCCI and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).
ICC, the world business organisation, has its headquarters in Paris and a physical presence in more than 170 countries, representing 45 million companies and over 1 billion workers worldwide. Globally, one in every three workers depends on ICC members for their livelihood.
ICC is the only private-sector non-sovereign organisation granted permanent observer status at the General Assembly of the United Nations.
