LGED-CReLIC holds workshops to refine documentary, factsheets

The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) held two workshops to finalise a documentary script and factsheet layouts under the Lessons Learned and Best Practices Video Documentation initiative of the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Center (CReLIC), part of the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming Project (CRIMP).

Md Belal Hossain, chief engineer of LGED, inaugurated the programmes as the chief guest at the LGED headquarters in Dhaka on Wednesday, according to a press release.

He said LGED is continuously working to build innovative and durable infrastructure to address climate change risks. He noted that the documentary and factsheets would enrich CReLIC’s Knowledge Management System and serve as references for policymakers, development partners, local government institutions and other stakeholders.

Kazi Saiful Kabir, additional chief engineer of LGED and director of CReLIC, chaired the workshops.

He said feedback and recommendations from the workshops would help improve the quality of the documentary and factsheets.

Saiful said CReLIC’s core objective is to document and disseminate successful models and experiences in climate-resilient infrastructure. He added that the materials would continue to serve as references for engineers and researchers even after the project concludes, particularly in implementing sustainable infrastructure.
