Rupali Bank teams up with Visa to expand card portfolio

Rupali Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Visa, a global leader in digital payments, aimed at expanding the bank’s Visa card business and further developing digital payment services in Bangladesh.

Kazi Md Wahidul Islam, managing director of the bank, and Sabbir Ahmed, country manager for Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan at Visa, signed the agreement at a ceremony held in Dhaka recently, according to a press release. The agreement sets out a long-term framework for expanding Rupali Bank’s Visa card portfolio across both consumer and commercial segments, with a focus on introducing innovative card products and services and delivering a seamless experience to customers.

Among others, Tahmina Akhter, deputy managing director of the bank; Hasan Tanvir and Harunur Rashid, general managers at the bank’s head office; and Arifur Rahman, director of business development for South Asia at Visa, were also present at the signing ceremony.
