MGI-Marketing Alumni Association awards scholarships to 90 DU students

To encourage talented and promising students to pursue higher education and support the development of future leaders, the Marketing Alumni Association of the Dhaka University (DU) and Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) jointly awarded scholarships to 90 students.

The scholarship programme was organised at the Nawab Ali Senate Bhaban of DU under the theme “A Decade of a Shared Journey.”

The event was attended by Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan, MP, as the chief guest, and Prof. A B M Obaidul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of DU and chief patron of the Marketing Alumni Association.

In his speech, ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan said, “It is our shared responsibility to ensure that financial limitations do not prevent talented and promising students from pursuing higher education. The MGI-Marketing Alumni Association Scholarship Programme is a commendable initiative that supports talented and disadvantaged students in continuing their higher education while demonstrating the value of corporate and alumni partnerships in education and human resource development. I hope initiatives like this will encourage students to develop their talents and reach their full potential.”

Prof. ABM Obaidul Islam said, “Initiatives that support students in this way not only contribute to their academic progress but also help build their confidence and leadership skills. The MGI-MAA Scholarship Programme is a good example of meaningful engagement between the university, its alumni and the corporate sector. I hope the students will use their abilities and contribute more meaningfully to the development of the country and society in the future.”

MGI Director Barrister Tasnim Mostafa attended the event as the guest of honour.

Barrister Tasnim Mostafa said, “Investing in education is not only about supporting a student’s present. It is an investment in the future of families, society and the country. Through the MGI-MAA Scholarship Programme, we want to provide students not only with financial support but also with the confidence to pursue their dreams. As part of its corporate social responsibility, MGI will continue to support similar initiatives for education and youth empowerment in the coming days.”
