Ankan and Nandita unite for Coke Studio Bangla’s ‘Mothura’

Coke Studio Bangla released "Mothura", the fifth track of its fourth season, offering a semiclassical exploration of unfulfilled love and lingering devotion.   

The track dropped on September 24 across all major digital streaming platforms and the official Coke Studio Bangla YouTube channel.

Written and composed by Ankan Kumar Roy, "Mothura" features vocals by Sanzida Mahmood Nandita alongside Ankan himself, with music arranged by Shuvendu Das Shuvo. 

While both vocalists have previously delivered hits on the platform—Nandita with "Darale Duyare" and "Bulbuli", and Ankan with "Long Distance Love"—this marks their first duet together for Coke Studio Bangla.

The song centers on two lovers whose paths remain intertwined despite an insurmountable distance. Rooted in the imagery of classic romantic tragedies—from Radha-Krishna to Romeo-Juliet and Layla-Majnun—"Mothura" treats separation not as an end, but as an enduring state of emotional connection.   

Through a delicate semiclassical arrangement, the track weaves together themes of longing, silent grief, and unspoken devotion, capturing the lingering emotions that remain long after a relationship has reached an unfulfilled conclusion.
