Shofiqul Hoq elected Citizens Bank risk committee chairman

S M Shofiqul Hoq has been elected as the chairman of the Risk Management Committee of the Board of Directors of Citizens Bank PLC.

Shofiqul represents Rahimaziz Knitspin Ltd, one of the sponsor director entities of the bank, and is currently an executive director of NR Group, according to a press release. A professional with extensive experience in the textile industry, Shofiqul holds a degree in finance and banking from the University of Dhaka.

He began his career in 2004 as an assistant manager at Arif Knitspin Ltd. After progressing through various roles, he became executive director of NR Group in 2025.

Shofiqul has also been serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Citizens Bank for a considerable period, contributing to the bank’s strategic and governance matters.

In his new role, he will bring his experience in foreign procurement, marketing and the textile industry to the risk management committee.
